Well, it's been forever since I've written! So much has happened.

At the end of my last entry, I wrote how I had one last mega-trip of the summer left -- and that was to Latvia and Russia! What a blast :boogie: It was so fascinating to go there especially since it was the 40th anniversary of the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia (Wiki & Video ) when I went to Praha only a few days later [21.08]

But the people in Russia were lovely. I memorized the alphabet before I went so I could get me and my friend around without a hitch, and I communicated with them through some mix of Czech-Russian which I made up but all the people I spoke to immediately burst out into smiles (well, most of them) and helped us out :giggle: Luckily, I could understand about 60-70% of what they were saying so :w00t:

Latvia was really great too. It's a country that I think most people wouldn't think about going to, but I highly recommend it. I'd love to go back and explore outside of Riga. Riga was great in that we were basically the only tourists there. Great food :hungry: nice people. Fun city to wander around in :) We spent over 6 hours in the Occupation Museum which was incredible! It was so thorough and free! I couldn't believe it.

After that, I went to the Czech Republic to see my family  We went up to the mountains (Teplicko-Adrspasske skaly) for a week, and then up into Poland for a day to Wrocław and Kłodzko.

Since then, I've been studying abroad. That's coming to an end now too! I'm going to be bawling  I love everyone here so, so much :glomp: I also went to Praha a few days ago, completely last minute, to see my friends & family and just be a tourist -- something I've always wanted to do! Success.

But I have to admit.. I'm really excited to go home and play in the snow, see my doggies/family/friends, drive the Scoobadoo in the snow -FINALLY- and chill [literally..].

I also bought a ton of amazing books off Amazon which I can't wait to tear into, and I finally got some RallyArmor mud flaps! :D Can't wait to put them on :boogie:

Merry Christmas & all the best in 2009!!
:D :xmas: :santa: :snowflake::party:

Hello all!
I know it's been a[verylong]while since I've written :work:

Looking back, I can't even believe all that I have experienced since my last entry and it was merely three months ago :o :faint:

I have finally seen some of the Wild West.. :w00t: and I dream of Zion National Park every day. I can't wait to go back to Utah again, same goes for Colorado. Exploring more of the West is now very high up on my list of things to do. I want some Wyoming and Idaho, and of course Big Sky country :cowboy:

And now, across the pond, I have ventured all over as well. It's been an incredible experience. I have a couple more trips planned before returning home which I am excited for beyond words  :boogie: :w00t: :omg: :faint: It's bittersweet, though, as I love everyone here and all of us are parting ways soon :sniff:

Summer has been a blast. I feel so fortunate to have experienced this, it's ridiculous  :aww:

I guess that's all for now.

Ah, and a little side note --> Thank you for all your comments + favorites! I'm afraid I don't have time to reply individually, just know it is greatly appreciated and makes me all warm & fuzzy inside :giggle: :D

I hope everyone had an AMAZING summer!
Cheers

Ah, it's time for another update

In mere days, I'm Scooby-ing cross-country!! :omg: I've been wanting to do this for SO long! I'll finally see some of the US haha. And of course.. that means 83,205,723,593 pictures, maybe even more  So, so excited.

In a month, I will be in Europe and then to visit the familia  Ridiculous.. I've had a countdown going for quite some time, and it seems like just yesterday there were 100 days left. It felt like forever. And now it's almost here! :wow:

At the moment, I'm procrastinating about packing  I keep looking around the room trying to figure out how and when I'll start moving things, what to move them into :o  (boxes are NOT going to fit in my car haha..), and what to toss (which will end up being more than I'd like).

Hmmmmm...

On that note, I've seen tons of Smart cars lately (which make me feel better about the cargo capacity of my STi ) The fortwo is definitely successful here. I've seen at least five or six cruising around the past couple days. Bizarre, but it makes sense; it's just another novelty for people here. They do look cuter here than they do in Europe because they really stick out :giggle: I saw a guy in a yellow fortwo convertible yesterday by the beach :aww: So cute :D

Oh! I finished reading Three Cups of Tea :reading: Great story :) Read it if you get a chance.

I should probably start studying for finals, eh? :work: Hmmmm.... :wtf: haha. Good luck with finals, for those who have em, and have a wonderful summer! :D Lots of pics to come :w00t:

Cheers!
:peace:

:wow: Finally hit 20,000 page views! :w00t: :boogie: :faint:

I just want to say thank you very much! :aww: The last few thousand visits were in just the past month, and I've been on DA for almost 5 years lol  So THANK YOU! :) I'm so glad you like my photos.

Life is great :relax: The semester is already more than half done :omg: I can't even believe it. It goes by so fast! There is still a LOT of work left to be done before it's summer though :work: Nothing is ever that easy haha

I wish I could spend a few weeks on an island or something this summer just to relax :sun: This year has already been so crazy  :o

This summer + the next year and half or so will be insanely great  I even threw myself on the waiting list for Top Gear (which is 2 years long!! ugh :wtf: :x) Here's to hoping that being a girl will work in my favor :giggle: :XD: (they want 50/50 distribution in their audience)

There's going to be another Peace Corps info session here soon :) I still haven't decided whether I want to go with them or volunteer abroad on my own :hmm: :lightbulb: From speaking with some past participants, I've learned that much of the two years is filled with idle time, and that bothers me. I need to be doing something all the time. Anyone have any experience?

Welp, that's about it. I'm just riding out the rest of the semester and REALLY looking forward to summer! Lots of good things coming up :D Can't wait.

Thank you again everyone for all your support!
Cheers! :D
:peace:

Buenos dias

I just got back from Europe, and I'm struggling to adjust to the damn time difference again. :faint: I've been up since 3am :omg:

It's freeeeezing here! It's about -16 or -17C whereas in Europe it was only -6C. Yeeesh. I was pumping gas earlier and I couldn't even fill the whole tank because my hands nearly fell off haha

I'm glad it's 2008  It should be a good year :) I have some exciting things planned + lots of travel (hopefully even more than I'm imagining right now :fingerscrossed: )

I have a little more of break left and then I'm back to school :x Ugh. Can't wait til summer!! :boogie:

Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays! :D Stay warm!

:heart::heart:
